Designing fixtures to support workpieces, using machining methods and hand tools when necessary.
Loading CNC-programmed designs into machinery.
Affixing wire electrode spools and threading through guides prior to operation.
Selecting proper wires and guides based on application.
Filling and servicing EDM reservoirs, pumps and filters.
Drilling through-holes to accommodate EDM wire.

Initiating machining process.
Monitoring workstations while machining is performed.
Interrupting machining to insert/replace used electrodes.
Conducting in-process inspection: Utilizing gage (gauge) blocks; Using micrometers and calipers; Operating Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM); running standard program; Reading instrumentation to check the desired dimensions and tolerances.
Adjusting production process to incorporate changes needed to improve finished product.
